AgilePoker Submitted To The App Store

I finally submitted AgilePoker to the iTunes App Store today. It’s a long winded process, made even more painful by the fact that I had 3.1b2 SDK installed. It meant uninstalling that, rebooting, and re-installing 3.0 so I could build the app for the store.
Once I was back up and running on 3.0, I had to get a distribution provisioning profile, build and sign the app, zip it up, produce some screen-shots and then jump through various hoops to get the thing submitted.
My first stumbling block was in the application name. I entered the name and the other details, and hit submit, and got an error back saying the name had been used! I did a search for it on iTunes, and only found “The Agile Poker” and “Agile Poker”, not “AgilePoker”. I don’t understand how it works, but there are 2 apps (which perform a similar task to mine) both called “Planning Poker”!
So, I named it “AgilePoker Lite” not that I ever plan on introducing a heavy version.
There’s all kinds of criteria that must be met to get images uploaded too. I hope it gets approved, given some of the shite that’s on the app store currently, I’ll surprised if it doesn’t!
It’s only a simple app, and only of use to people who work in Agile development environments, but with such a simple idea, i cant understand why people who have written other versions, have managed to make the card selection process so drawn out and clumsy. My app is simple, and to the point. Oh, and it looks better, too!
